Shenzhen Container Terminals

A large scale wide area wireless data system is currently under implementation in the container ports, Shenzhen, China, to replace their legacy UHF mobile data system. The 2.4 GHz IEEE802.11b Wireless LAN DSSS technology has been employed in the design of the network infrastructure. The wireless infrastructure is designed to provide wireless data communication coverage of an outdoor area of 2 km by 1 km within the entire container operation yard.
